JAY NOLAN CAMP

EVERYTHING YOU NEED TO KNOW

Our focus on inclusivity and neurodiversity is designed to create a setting where young minds can learn, play, and grow together. If you have more questions after reading this page please don’t hesitate to contact us here.
What is the camp's philosophy or mission?

We believe that fostering experiences that are truly inclusive for kids of all abilities contributes to the development of a more inclusive, understanding, and compassionate society. Magic happens when kids of all abilities spend time together! Our inclusive camp provides opportunities for genuine friendships to form, where children learn to appreciate each other for who they are rather than focusing on differences. Plus, children naturally learn social skills through play and communication. In an inclusive setting, they develop a better understanding of effective communication, cooperation, and teamwork, and are therefore set up to thrive in a society that values diversity.

We welcome kids children of all abilities ages 8 to 15.

Regular Campers: Ages 8–13 and CIT: Ages 14–15.

No. Kids with and without disabilities are welcome and encouraged to join the camp.
The camp uses a communication approach by giving the option to send letters or care packages to your child during the camp session while restricting on-site visits from parents.

Yes! Jay Nolan Community Services’ Summer Camp is proudly accredited by the American Camp Association (ACA). This means we meet or exceed over 250 nationally recognized standards for health, safety, and program quality.

Yes! Our dynamic staff are specially trained to meet the social, emotional and behavioral needs of all campers. Counselors are carefully matched with campers to build friendships based in trust, respect and common interests. Our Staff celebrates differences and seeks the unique talents and abilities in every camp participant. All JNCS Staff are Red Cross CPR and First Aid certified. A registered nurse is on the campgrounds 24 hours per day throughout the entire camp session.
Our camp’s safety and supervision policies are crucial for ensuring a secure and supportive environment for both campers and staff. Some of the elements include: staff training, having well-defined emergency & evacuation plans, maintaining the proper camp-to-staff ratio for supervision & safety, and having health personnel present to handle minor injuries & illnesses, as well as the administration of medications as prescribed by the campers’ physicians.
Our experienced counselors will manage homesickness by providing emotional support, offering a listening ear, encourage the engagement in fun activities. Parents’ suggestions are highly encouraged.
Behavioral issues and conflicts are addressed by offering support and guidance to a camper experiencing difficulties. Counselors trained with conflict-resolution skills may encourage open communication, giving positive reinforcement as needed. The director may intervene to address issues and/or conflicts and if necessary, involve parents or guardians in finding solutions.
Payment in full is required at the time of registration. If you need to cancel for any reason, we must receive written notice of cancellation (either mailed or faxed) by June 15, 2026. Your registration payment will be refunded less a $50.00 service charge.
